Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Iris began her makeup career in Paris. Her work has appeared in Elle, Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, Glamour, and Marie Claire to name a few, and she has worked with such celebrities as Eva Longoria, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, Rosanna Arquette, Kelsey Grammer and Samuel L. Jackson. Her many advertising campaigns have included MAC, Urban Decay, Maybelline, Ralph Lauren, Nikon, Guess, Smirnoff, Toshiba, and AT&T.

Not only she is an incredibly talented makeup artist, but she is a developer of a skincare product as well. Iris fell in love with the feel, freshness and fragrance of rose oil and its many nourishing and healing properties, so she developed her first beauty product – Precious Rose Intense Hydrating and Age Reversing Serum. [I was amazed with the serum! You can read the review HERE.]

You were a classical dancer and a model. So what made you choose to become a makeup artist? How long have you been doing makeup for?

I’ve been doing makeup professionally for about 13 years but I’ve always loved playing with makeup and as a model I was fascinated watching the pros transform me for different shoots. For me it was a natural progression.

Now you have your own skincare product. What prompted you to develop your own serum?

I’d been using different moisturizers but wasn’t really completely satisfied with any of them. I’ve always loved the many healing properties of Rose oil and I decided that a multi-functional serum with Rose oil as its base would be the perfect debut product.

Are you planning to develop a whole line of skincare products? Will they have pure essential Rose oil as its base as well?

Ideally I would like to do more skincare products with Rose oil as the base.

Can we expect a makeup line, too? Any other future plans?

Yes, makeup is definitely in the future plans. My long term goal is a complete line of organic makeup and skincare.

Please, share your favorite makeup tricks with Beauty Blogette’s reades!

Here are a couple of my favs:

To keep dark eyeshadow from getting all over your face, dip a makeup sponge in loose powder before applying shadow and dab under eyes in a half moon shape. The powder will catch any falling pigment and when you are done just take a big powder brush and sweep away.

To give dark lip colors staying power, apply color, then place a tissue over your lips; dip a brush in loose powder and dust through the tissue. This will set the lipstick and prevent it from bleeding.

What are the beauty products you can’t live without?

YSL Touche Éclat, Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, MAC Pure Pigments, and my Precious Rose Serum of course!

What is your advice on keeping the skin in great condition? How can your serum help us achieve beautiful skin?

I can’t stress enough how important it is to stay hydrated. Drinking enough water keeps skin plump and dewy. The ingredients in my rose serum were handpicked by me for their intense hydrating and repairing qualities. With regular use your skin will be softer, smoother and younger looking.

What does it take to be successful in beauty industry?

Hard work, a passion to your craft, and persistence!
