Pantene has introduced a new era of shampoos with Anti-Oxidant technology that helps reduce the daily oxidative damage that all hair faces. Although there are many sources of oxidants – from environmental oxidant (e.g. UV light), or chemical treatments such as peroxides – this technology stems from the discovery that this oxidative process is amplified by an unsuspected source, copper, found in everyone’s wash water. This technology works to help preserve the health of hair, as it targets, captures and helps to neutralize excessive copper impurities in hair. Reducing copper helps prevent the formation of free radicals, and reduces the fracture and erosion of hair’s vital proteins.

I’ve tested Pantene Pro-V Intensive Repair products for two weeks, and you can see the results in the photos.

I really like the new formula of the shampoo. It’s creamy, so it doesn’t dry out the hair, and it cleans the scalp really well; better than some common drugstore shampoos.

The formula of the Intensive Repair conditioner has also changed. I’ve used the conditioner as well, because it preserves the keratin, so the two of them have been responsible for the shine and the healthier look of my hair.

However, the formula of the conditioner is not strong enough for complete care of my hair. My hair is bleached, so it’s really dry and it needs stronger treatments, such as 2 Minutes Intensive Repair Masque from the same collection. Two years ago, I reviewed it and I can still say that this is one of the best drugstore hair masks. It has changed its look (the packaging is now white and gold), but its quality is the same. After use, my hair is really soft and smooth.

I love this serum and oil in one – it has amazing texture and provides renewed and radiant skin. Has a divine scent and I’m sure I’ll use this product for a long time.

Garnier Moisture Match for normal to dry skin
The skin is moisturized, soft and smooth after use. Excellent price-quality ratio.

Ibuki Shiseido Purifying Cleanser (review)
Last year, Shiseido launched Ibuki line from which I tried this face foam and I immediately liked it. It really does a great job. Skin is thoroughly cleansed, soft and radiant.

La Prairie Foam Cleanser (review)
Here is another foam cleanser on the list. La Prairie Foam Cleanser perfectly suits my skin. Cleans, smooths, refreshes.

NovExpert Peeling Night Cream
I liked the whole Expert Radiance line a lot, but especially this product. This cream peels the skin while you sleep, which means that it reduces all imperfections. It contains 99.65% ingredients of natural origin.

The best 2013 products- makeup

YSL Rouge Pur Couture 5 Beige Etrusque (LOTD)
I finally found a right nude shade. This is the one! The lipstick has wonderful scent, like some face cream and extremely creamy and nourishing texture.

Dior Diorskin Nude Tan Paradise Duo 002 Coral Glow (review)
A wonderful product that includes a bronzer and a blush. They both look very subtle on face and can be worn all year round. I bought it last summer, but since then I have not stopped using it.

Catrice Gel Eye Liner 010 Black Jack With Jack Black
Last year I used this eyeliner very often mostly because of its long-lasting formula. It has an intense black color, easy-to-apply formula and is very inexpensive.

Lancôme Liner Plume 01 Noir
This is a very precise black eyeliner that I used the most last year. It is so easy to create a line with it.

Lancôme L’Absolu Velours (post)
Lancôme velvety liquid lipsticks have won me completely! It was difficult to pick just one color, so I put in the photo all that I own.

Body care

The best 2013 products - body care

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse
This dry oil is a must-have product. It is a real pleasure to use it, especially in the summer. Gives a natural glow to the skin and it has a beautiful scent. It is multi-functional, so you can use it for facial skin care and hair care, as well.

Afrodita Cosmetics Mineral Water peeling shower gel and moisturising body milk
I love the design, the effectiveness and the refreshing citrus scent of these products. They are a great choice for warm days.

Bottega Verde Riso Venere body milk and scrub
I adore the scent of these products! They are effective as well: the scrub leaves the skin very smooth and the milk provides a velvety soft skin. Because of the scent and texture, these products are right choice for cooler days.

L’Oréal Professionnel released Pro-Keratin Refill line on the market – the line that returns hair keratin and provides protection.

Hair is made up of 85% keratin which gives shine, flexibility and strength to the hair. Natural keratin is damaged and lost overtime. Pro-Keratin Refill is a professional haircare range that targets damaged and weak hair caused by mechanical, chemical and environmental aggressors and leaves hair feeling 70% stronger.

My hair is bleached, so it needs adequate care. With constant use of the right products, which usually means professional products, my hair stays in great condition and, despite the bleach, it is always very strong and thick. Before I started using Pro-Keratin Refill products, I had tested some drugstore hair products for the purpose of reviews, and it felt so good to return to the professional ones.

From Pro-Keratin Refill line I tried correcting care shampoo and masque for damaged hair.

The shampoo gives deeply cleaned hair. I noticed that my scalp stays cleaner slightly longer compared with some drugstore shampoos. In combination with the masque, the hair becomes soft, supple and shiny. These products restore hair and the masque itself protects it from outside influences. I’m really thrilled with the effect and every time after using it I am pleasantly surprised with the look of my hair. It is extremely strong, yet silky. It looks really healthy.

Although I always use oils for finishing touch in order to get a salon look, I have to mention that I sometimes had skipped this step and my hair still looked very shiny and sleek. Of course, oil is always a great idea for a bit of magic. I recommend Mythic Oil which I reviewed here.

I am completely amazed with these products! They are really superb, perfect for my hair and I can already tell you that they will be on my 2013 best products list. :)

During the whole summer, I was using Kérastase hair products: Bain Après-Soleil, Crème Richesse and Elixir Ultime Moringa Immortel.

Kérastase Paris Bain Aprés-Soleil, Soleil Creme Richesse & Elixir Ultime

Amazing Crème Richesse mask combined with a Bain Après-Soleil anti-damage shampoo made my hair soft and shiny. Shampoo deeply cleansed my scalp, so it remain clean longer than when using a common (drugstore) shampoo. Therefore, I could use these products throughout the year, not just in summer.

Elixir Ultime Moringa Immortel Oil is not from the Soleil collection, so I’ll definitely continue to use it. The hair is silky, fragrant and smooth after use.

Despite sun and sea, my hair stayed healthy. I have no split ends even thought I cut my hair in February. That’s quite an achievement for bleached hair. :) I dyed my hair at the beginning on summer and during the summer I did only the roots. Given that I used Soleil products, my hair color was fading normally and sun and sea didn’t negatively impact on it.

In July, I began the story with the beach atmosphere (post), and I’ll finish it in the mountainous, namely at the top of the Risnjak mountain.

My summer with Kérastase + view from the top of the mountain Risnjak

The view from the mountaintop is really beautiful. On the top is a metal wheel, which you can see in the pictures. This trip included 6.5 km/4.04 mi walk from Vilja (1168 m/0.73 mi) to the Great Risnjak (1528 m/0.95 mi above sea level) and back.

I’ve tried several different Batiste dry shampoos, so here is the review.

Batiste team claims that their dry shampoos revitalize greasy and lifeless hair. They state that these shampoos instantly give a sense of purity and fullness and that they provide freshness with beautiful fragrances. They are easy for use wherever you are. They are perfect if you don’t have time for classic hair washing. Just shake the bottle and spray your hair with a distance of about 30 cm (11.8 in), leave it on for a few minutes and then brush or rub your hair with a towel.

One of the sponsors of the BBDay was Batiste so I was able to try three different types of shampoos. Here are my observations, as well as some additional information about these products.

Batiste Dry Shampoos

Batiste Dry Shampoos

Blush shampoo has intense floral scent, Original has fresh lemon scent and XXL Volume smells like some styling hairspray. All of them are designed to refresh hair, while the XXL Volume, as its name suggests, has a task to make volumized hair. All three shampoos provide volume, but the XXL makes it the most impressive.

I like the effect they give. They can be used to skip conventional washing in situations where you have no time to wash your hair and when it is necessary to quickly refresh it and give it a neat appearance. They absorb grease from the scalp, refresh the hair with their fragrances and provide a volume. Of course, these shampoos can not replace conventional washing, but it certainly can help that your hair always looks neat. The classic wash gives a clean hair and dry wash gives you a refreshed hair. I recommend that you to try some of these products and that you always have one of them ready for use in times when you do not have time to wash. In these situations they could save.

My favorite one is Blush, because of the scent, although I like Original as well. It is hard to decide, because they both give the same result. If you need a significant dose volume, you should definitely try the XXL.

Price:

  • Blush – £2.99 (200 ml), £1.50 (50 ml) | $7.99 (6.73 fl. oz.), $3.99 (1.6 fl. oz.)
  • Original – £2.99 (200 ml), £1.50 (50 ml) | $7.99 (6.73 fl. oz.), $3.99 (1.6 fl. oz.)
  • XXL Volume – £3.99 (200 ml)

Ingredients: Blush & Original, XXL Volume
