Lancôme will soon launch a new Hypnôse mascara, Volume-à-porter, and today I bring you an exclusive review of it. :)

Hypnôse Volume-à-porter mascara comes in an elegant package. It has the same shape as Drama, Doll Eyes and Star mascaras, but the exterior color is different than others – comes in specular, bronze package. Its metalized appearance immediately reveals that this is a special mascara.

Hypnôse mascaras are my favorite mascaras, especially because of their phenomenal formula. I like their brushes as well. But, this time, Hypnôse comes with a change – Volume-à-porter has a rubber brush. I’m not always a fan of that kind of brushes, which may be due to the shape of the brushes, but mostly because of their synergy with formulas. The so-called “wet” mascara formulas in combination with rubber brushes can do a messy application. That’s not the case here, because this is a Hypnôse mascara which comes with a consistent formula. Hypnôse formula, popularly known as “dry”, provides a controlled application of the fluid. Also, the brush with its shape succeeds to beautifully separate the lashes.

The goal of the Volume-à-porter mascara is, as the name suggests, to provide volume to the lashes, but also to make them visually longer. It really fulfills the promise. First layer visually extends them, and following layers bring volume. The result is sophisticated, but expressive appearance of eyelashes. It is light-weight and each new layer slides on the eyelashes, giving a clean application, without creating clumps. My eyelashes are straight, sparse and thin, but this mascara gives them a sufficient volume and the brush manages to curl them.

Hypnôse mascaras always impress me with their excellent durability. That is the case with this mascara as well. Does not crumble and there are no smudges. It looks the same all day long. Like its predecessors, this mascara smells like roses, which is a really special addition to the formula.

Lancôme managed to amaze me again with Hypnôse mascara, and I believe that it will appeal to other lovers of this famous collection. If you have a chance, do try this great novelty.

Dear readers, I wish you all the best in 2015! :* Every year begins with my birthday and I will show you this year’s B-Day/New Year makeup look. :)

This post is actually an introduction to what will follow, and that is a list of the best products I used in 2014. You can see many of them in this post.

B-Day look

Products I used for this makeup look:

MAC Ruby Woo is a fantastic, extremely long-lasting lipstick in a beautiful retro matte red shade. A must-have! :x

I adore Eylure lashes and I have been using them for years. On this occasion, I wore N° 035 Lengthening. Like all Eylure lashes, I bought them here+.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Blonde
is the best product I have ever used for eyebrows, and I especially like to use it with the excellent Anastasia Beverly Hills Large Synthetic Duo Brush. I bought them here+.

Last couple of months I have been using Maybelline New York Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24h regularly. Except Intense Black shade, I’ve been using Brown and Ultra Violet shades as well. I bought them here: Intense Black+, Brown+ and Ultra Violet+.

MAC Frankly Scarlet powder blush has a great texture, matte finish and is highly pigmented.

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot is a creamy eye color that looks great on the eyelids, is extremely long-lasting, and works great as a base for powder eyeshadows. Bare Study shade is a soft beige with gold pearl.

Although I really liked them, other used products will not be featured in the 2014 fave products list. MAC Pro Longwear concealer NC20 is great, but I have to test it a bit more for final impressions. I’ve already raved about Lancôme Le Crayon Khol Black Carat 024 Black Gold eyeliner and listed it here. Dior Diorskin BB Creme 002 Fair I like a lot, but I have not used it enough last year. It was my regular choice in 2013. I bought it here+.
